We are a yard haunt located in Jackson, NJ that's run by three sisters. Our father started this haunt in 2003 when we convinced him into letting us have a halloween party with our friends. He had some extra wood lying around and decided to build us some outdoor decorations for the party.  It all started with a guillotine, a gallows and a coffin all built in one afternoon along with six styrofoam tombstones (We still use them in our haunt to this day!). Our decorations got a great reaction from trick-or-treaters so we put them out again the next year, adding just a bit more. And so a family tradition was born. Every year since we've built up and added more decorations. Unfortunatly, our dad was hurt in a work related accident and could no longer physically build the haunt, so we three sister had to "man-up" and take control. But we all contribute in our own ways by coming up with new ideas, making props, buying props, setting up and packing away again in order to terrorize on Halloween night. But, most of all, our haunt is really about creating memories for the trick-a-traters and their parents by providing fun and thrills. We have developed into an interesting mix that you won't find at your usual haunt. Whispering Hills Haunt has some very scary scenes but we remember it's about the kids and everythings done with a wink of the eye so-to-speak. We are not too heavy on the gore and we keep it all with a sense humor and fun. Although we do get our share of screams provided by some spooky volenteers in costumes. Many of the props we have made are inspired by others (although always different and in our own way) so we will try to give credit when we can and we are very open to helping others or answeing questions.
